U.S. Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) on Wednesday toured the Temple & Texas Central(TC) Railway, one of 12 short lines managed by Patriot Rail Co. LLC.

TC Operations Manager David Lutz led the tour, which also included a discussion of current rail issues, according to a press release issued by the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA).

The Temple & Central Texas Railway (“TC”) operates over 10 miles of rail line in the Central Pointe Rail Park located in Temple, Texas. TC was awarded an exclusive long-term license agreement by the City of Temple to provide rail switching and other rail-related services to customers at Central Pointe Rail Park.

Central Pointe Rail Park, owned by the City of Temple, is a 3,500-acre industrial park with more than 50 tenants.  Strategically located in central Texas midway between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, the Park has rail service, utilities, developed streets and its own fire station, airport and medical center.  Within the Park there are approximately 10 miles of rail line.  TC interchanges traffic with Class I rail carrier BNSF at Temple.
