AUSTIN — Change within the top ranks of the Texas Department of Transportation continued Tuesday with the announcement that Executive Director Joe Weber will retire at the end of the year, Texas state Rep. Joe Pickett, D-El Paso, confirmed.
After the El Paso Times reported Weber's plans, TxDOT spokeswoman Veronica Beyer provided the paper with a copy of the executive director's announcement of his retirement that went out to TxDOT staff Tuesday afternoon.
Weber’s retirement comes after the August retirement of Deputy Executive Director John Barton.
