Texas Central announces another key player in Dallas-Houston high speed line

Texas Central Railway has announced another major achievement in their progress to bring high-speed trains to Texas with industry giant Kiewit's involvement.
Kiewit’s subsidiary, Mass. Electric, has signed an early works agreement to prepare for the installation of the high-speed train. The Early Contract Involvement (ECI) agreement with Mass Electric covers work to define the scope, execution plan, schedule and price for a design-build contract.
Holly Reed, Managing Director for External Affairs at Texas Central said that "Mass. Electric Construction has a 55-year tradition of outstanding performance on some of the nation’s most high-profile transportation projects. We selected Mass. Electric because of their exemplary reputation in transportation projects nationwide, including Union Station in Denver, Phase 2 Houston LRT, the DART Green Line in Dallas, and the Miami International Airport Automated People Mover."

Texas Central's project will create an estimated $36 billion in economic benefits statewide over the next 25 years, including the creation of 10,000 direct jobs per year during peak construction and 1,500 permanent jobs, according to the railroad. "
