If you're one of about 300 football fans coming to Dallas from Oklahoma for the Texas-OU game in October you could snag a special fare on the Heartland Flyer out of Oklahoma City and Norman that weekend.
TRA has learned that the special fare of $31 each way will be available for the Friday, October 13 trip direct to Dallas on the Heartland Flyer, and also available for the return on Sunday, October 15. The Amtrak Heartland Flyer, which is a joint operation of the Oklahoma and Texas Department of Transportation normally terminates in Fort Worth each afternoon but will continue to downtown Dallas for the big game weekend.

A snack car will be available on the train which will allow OU fans to sip a cold one and relax, something you can't do driving down I-35 from Oklahoma.
